AN INTRODUCTION TO AIMJF

1. All India Memon Jamat Federation (AIMJF) is a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) registered as under:-

  • Registered under the "Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950" Registration No. F-4564
  • Registered under the "Societies Registration Act, 1860" Registration No. BOM-166/77 G.B.B.S.D.
  • Registered under the "Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 1976" Registration No. 083780755

2. All India Memon Jamat Federation's Board of Management is as follows:-

  • 1 President
  • 10 Vice Presidents
  • 20 Dy Vice Presidents
  • 1 Hon. Gen. Secretary
  • 2 Hon. Jt. Secretaries
  • 2 Hon. Jt. Secretaries
  • 95 Zonal Secretaries
  • 250 National Executive Committee Members
  • Advisory Board
  • Legal Advisor
  • Ladies Wing
  • Matrimonial Wing
  • Estate Wing

3. All India Memon Jamat Federation (AIMJF) was established on 11th April 1971 as an Indian umbrella organisation in order to unite all Halai Memon Jamats, Organisations, Institutions and Associations. The purpose of the AIMJF is to act as the central Memon organisation representing the entire Memon community throughout India, promoting the advancement of Education, Health, Housing, Economic Upliftment, Unity, Welfare and Well-being of all Memons, in all aspects of life.

  • At present AIMJF is having 482 Jamats under its umbrella divided into 9 Regions and spread over 95 Zones. Each Region is individually taken care by the respective regional Vice President / Dy Vice President and each Jamat is individually taken care by the respective Jamat’s Zonal Secretary.

4. The governance of the AIMJF rests with the Board Members representing its Office Bearers.

5. The member Jamats of the AIMJF elect from amongst themselves, every 4 years, the President of the AIMJF who in turn appoints:

  • 9 Vice-Presidents
  • 1 Gen Secretary,
  • 2 Joint Secretary,
  • 95 Zonal Secretaries (recommended by respective Jamats),
  • 250 National Executive Committee Members,
  • Each term of office is for 4 years.
  • The Office Bearers constitute the Board of the AIMJF.

6. In seeking to fulfill the aims and objectives of the AIMJF, all members are reminded that AIMJF is intended to be:

7. An accord of Memon Jamats, organisations, institutions, and associations which are established in different parts of the India;

  • A broad-based, representative organisation of Memons, accommodating and reflecting the diversity of the social, cultural and international backgrounds of the entire Memon community;
  • A body that shall endeavor to formulate, implement and utilize its policies and decisions on the basis of broad consensus and the largest practicable measure of common agreement.
  • A body that shall endeavor to utilize the talents and specialist skills of its individual members and the strengths and resources of its organised bodies in preparing the case for, and advocating, the responsibilities and rights of Memons in particular and Muslims generally worldwide;
  • A non-sectarian and non-political body working for the common good while recognizing the independence and autonomy of individuals and organizations and their respective works in the community of their domicile.
  • To make co-coordinated and concerted efforts to resolve the economical, educational, social, cultural, medical, rehabilitation and all other problems faced by the Memon community.
  • To foster better community relations between all religious, social, ethnic and national groups for the good of society as a whole;
  • To create direct links between Memon individuals, Jamaats, associations, corporate bodies, institutions and organisations throughout the world in order to harness the talents, expertise and general efforts of the Memon community as a whole for the mutual benefit of its members;
  • To work for the alleviation of poverty in the Memon community and to improve the quality and standard of living of its members. To protect, maintain and promote the culture, language and dignity of Memons.
  • To promote unity, understanding and tolerance amongst the Memon community; To carry out any such projects that will promote, advance and uplift the general welfare and well-being of the Memon community.
  • To strive for the eradication of any disadvantages and all forms of discrimination faced by Memons in particular and Muslims generally and to co-operate with such other national or international organisations having similar aims and objectives;
